To Upload CAD Models to the Engineering Work Package

After you create an engineering work package, you can upload and import the CAD models, Isometrics, and other files and documents to include in the work package.

Once you select Save and next in the Define the new work package window, the <title - description> window opens.

Note: You can only upload files to the current revision of an engineering work package.
  1. From the Engineering panel, select Engineering work packages The Engineering work packages window opens.
  2. Select an Engineering work package from the list.
  3. From the <work package title - description> window, select the CAD models tab.
  4. From the CAD models tab, select Upload.
  5. In the Upload CAD Models for <work package> window, select Select files.
  6. In the Choose File to Upload dialog, select the CAD models to include in the engineering work package and select Open. All the files you selected are listed in the Upload CAD models window.
  7. After a checkmark displays to the left of the file name(s), close the Upload CAD models window. The files display in the CAD models list.
  8. In the Type field, from the drop down select the model type. Options are: AutoPlant, BRCM, OpenPlant, PDMS, PDS DGN, PDS Hierarchy, PDS MDB2, PDS PRP, PSDS, SP3D, Unspecified. To add the same Type to all files or to multiple files, turn on the check box in the left most column (or the check box in the header row for all) and from the Download selected drop-down, select Set Properties > Set model type and make your selection.
  9. In the CAD data source field, from the drop down select the CAD data source. Options are PDS and Unspecified. To add the same CAD data source model type for all files or to multiple files, turn on the check box in the left most column (or the check box in the header row for all) and from the Download selected drop-down, select Set Properties > Set CAD data source and make your selection.
  10. (Optional) Make any changes to the Hold field.
You follow the same procedure for uploading Isometrics and Documents.
